BAGUIO—Pauline del Rosario held sway with clutch putts at the back then pounced on Chihiro Ikeda’s late-hole mishaps to fashion out a four-stroke victory with a 64 in the ICTSI Baguio Ladies Classic at the Baguio Country Club here yesterday.

Del Rosario kept an overnight four-shot lead up to No. 10 but dropped two strokes on the lone par-4 at the back on No. 11, enabling Ikeda to threaten within two. But she matched her Fil-Japanese rival’s birdie on the next and cruised to another win despite a bogey on No. 16 as Ikeda faded with double-bogey-bogey miscues on Nos. 16 and 17 to likewise finish with a three-over card.

THE ICTSI Philippine Masters gets under way today (Wednesday) with the elite field all geared up for a fierce battle for what used to be an esteemed title on the pro circuit and on a course so tricky it could deceive even the veterans in the fold.

The Villamor layout measures up to 7,000 yards and though it is expected to yield low scores given the current form of the competing field, it could still pose a challenge with its tight fairways, thick roughs and unpredictable putting surface.

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – Rolex world No. 1 Lydia Ko birdied the final hole Sunday at the Kingsmill Championship to secure a top-10 finish before she takes three weeks off to get ready for the summer’s run of big events.

Ko’s finish helped her extend her reign as world No. 1 to 83 consecutive weeks.

A TOTAL of 66 PGA Tour golfers have earned more than $US1 million over the course of the 2017 season so far, but that doesn’t mean that some players aren’t trying to save money when possible.

On Sunday at TPC Sawgrass, 21-year-old South Korean Si Woo Kim cruised to a victory at The Players Championship with a flawless bogey-free round to earn $1.89 million ($A2.5 million). It was Kim’s second career PGA Tour victory.

THE WOODLANDS, Texas (AP) -- John Daly says he's not accustomed to seeing himself atop the leaderboard. He's got a chance to do something else he hasn't accomplished in a long time - win a golf tournament.

Daly shot a bogey-free 7-under 65 on Saturday to take a one-stroke lead over Kenny Perry in the PGA Tour Champions' Insperity Invitational. The 51-year-old, two-time major champion will try for his first victory on the senior tour - and for the first time since the PGA Tour's 2004 Buick Invitational.
