A TOTAL of 66 PGA Tour golfers have earned more than $US1 million over the course of the 2017 season so far, but that doesn’t mean that some players aren’t trying to save money when possible.

On Sunday at TPC Sawgrass, 21-year-old South Korean Si Woo Kim cruised to a victory at The Players Championship with a flawless bogey-free round to earn $1.89 million ($A2.5 million). It was Kim’s second career PGA Tour victory.

On Monday, Kim was spotted flying coach on a Delta flight to Atlanta.

It was also revealed that Kim won the Players (and then crammed himself into a tiny aeroplane seat) with a bad back.

He withdrew from this weekend’s AT&T Byron Nelson in Dallas as a precautionary measure after his back needed treatment before his final round Sunday.

“After consulting with my team last night and this morning, I have decided to withdraw from this week’s AT&T Byron Nelson. On Saturday night at THE PLAYERS, my back began to flare up. On Sunday when I arrived, I received treatment from a physio on the putting green that helped me get through the round, and fortunately, win the tournament. Having dealt with that the last two days, I feel it is best for me to take precautionary measures to ensure I can practice and compete fully healthy for the rest of the season.”
