The Knights of Columbus (Kof C) of the Don Bosco Council 10277 - Our Lady of Good Council Church Surrey BC celebrated Christmas in an exciting and enjoyable way – by playing basketball.

Father John Cosgrove tossed the first basketball to kick off the tournament. Members’ families and friends brought potluck lunch which Lecturer Neville Buckel said grace for. The Council 10277 also recognized all the Knights who volunteered and served in the Kof C programs such as Sunday Mass Traffic Aide, Pancake Breakfast, and Basketball Committee. Certificates of Appreciation were presented by the Grand Knight Edz Valdez and District Deputy Richard Hazelman.

The Kof C basketball league is thriving and more people, young and mature alike, are joining the Kof C to experience the order’s founding principles of charity, unity and fraternity. The members enjoy the friendship, camaraderie and spiritual growth.

The Knights of Columbus is the world's largest Catholic fraternal service organization founded by Father Michael J. McGivney in New Haven, Connecticut in 1882. Its motto is “In service to One, In service to all.”

“I’m committed to helping build a strong Knights of Columbus for the Council 10277. This is my way of giving back to the Lord for the miracle my family received from Him,” said the Grand Knight of Don Bosco Council Bro Edz Valdez. Bro Edz believed that through his strong faith and the power of prayers, his better half recovered from a difficult and painful back problem.
